Justin is an actor and director based in Philly. Before arriving at the Pig Iron School he was co-founder and co-artistic director for The Candidatos - a two man clown based theatre company that toured the world with I'm Sorry and I'm Sorry. They were runners up for Best of Fest at Dublin Fringe and darlings of the NY Clown Theatre Festival and Minneapolis Fringe. They appeared in the Lincoln Center Outdoor Festival with an irreverent adaptation of Julio Cortazar short stories titled Lessons for the Lobotomized. Other credits include Hamm in Montana Reps production of Endgame and as Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Since graduation Justin has been working closely with Pig Iron School faculty member Geoff Sobelle on his critically acclaimed show The Object Lesson – touring the states and Australia. Currently in development with Sobelle’s new show regarding house and home – slated to premiere and tour in 2017. He has appeared in Let the Dog See the Rabbit with Lightning Rod Special, as The Douglass in Team Sunshine & Shakespeare in Clark Park's Henry IV, and in Pig Iron Theatre Company’s 99 BreakUps. He served as the artist-in-residence at Philadelphia Circus School – where he developed new work, and taught performance styles. Directed former Cirque du Soleil juggler Greg Kennedy’s new show Theorem. Clown Teacher for the Lantern Theater’s Comedic Style’s class. He works closely with Mel Krodman and Kelly Bond as consultant and technical support. He has a BA in theatre from the University of Iowa, where he developed a passion for creation and worked with Dare Clubb, Erik Ehn, David Adjami and Naomi Izuka. He studies Ashtanga Yoga, and is in training to become a certified yoga instructor.
