Lauren Harries is a Philadelphia-based theater artist who likes to make work that laughs in the face of the unknown. At her alma mater, Colgate University (2011), she focused on performance, directing, serving as President to the student theater company, and bridging the gap between the local Hamilton, NY community and the Colgate students interested in arts education. Right after Colgate, Harries relocated to Philadelphia to study in the inaugural class year of the Pig Iron School (2013). The time at Pig Iron forged lasting collaborative bonds with her classmates and the local theater community. On the heels of graduation, she performed in Pig Iron Theatre Company's remount of PAY UP, classmate Alex Bechtel's The West, and joined Almanac Dance Circus Theatre as a company member and co-devised the full-length Communitas. Harries has also been seen clowning around in showcase performances for the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, worked with Brat Productions (Let’s Start a War), Shakespeare in Clark Park and Team Sunshine Performance Corporation (Henry IV), and Tribe of Fools (Fake Off season two) and (Zombies…with Guns).
