Join us for three nights of brand new, full-length works of theatre devised by students in the final semester of the UArts/Pig Iron School MFA program. Experience the unfettered creative visions of our trail-blazing students as they launch themselves into the world.


This September brings the 20th anniversary of the annual Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and our students, alums, and faculty are busy with all manner of shows:

- Red 40 & The Last Groovement, Philadelphia's preeminent funk/disco/r&b clowns, help kick off the festival with a late night dance party.  Red 40 includes Martha Stuckey '13,  Caitlin Antram '13, Jess Conda '13, Ben Grinberg '13, and Alice Yorke '13.


Jenn Kidwell and Scott Sheppard, members of the Pig Iron School Class of 2013, were featured in the New York Times Arts section on September 11th.  The article previewed their show Underground Railroad Game, running September 13th-October 15th at Ars Nova in New York City.


Jenn Kidwell, Class of 2013, was recently named a Pew Fellow from the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage.  It comes with a $75,000 unrestricted grant.  She was also named Theatre Artist of the Year from Philadelphia Magazine.

Our class of 2016 completed their DARES and we're pleased to show a sampling of images from their final showing May 7-8 at Caplan Black Box Theatre, University of the Arts. 
Our class of 2017 completed their first year in the MFA program and we're pleased to show a sampling of images from their last showing May 4-5.

The Pig Iron School will hold a summer audition for its MFA program in Devised Performance on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 1:30pm-3:30pm.

The Class of 2016 presents RED NOSE RUMPUS ~ A clown showing open to all ages. April 13-14, 2016 at 7:30pm, here at the Pig Iron School.
