The UArts/Pig Iron Class of 2020 present Border Towns, an evening of performances centered on two devised performances based on the observations and research done on-site at the northern and southern borders of the United States.
In March, the Class of 2020 split in two; one group visited our southern border in Laredo, TX and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and the other half journeyed north to Madawaska, ME and Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada. The goal of the trip was to strip away the political noise that engulfs border towns and to observe them as they are - absorbing their people, their rhythms, their stories.
These observations are being transformed into two original pieces of ensemble devised theatre, presented alongside shorter works created over the course of these artists' first year in the UArts/Pig Iron School.
