Presence of the Performer

Pig Iron/UArts MFA Program invites you to explore embodied presence through play and increase your sensitivity and daring as a performer.

In this workshop, you will discover how to be dynamic and alive onstage through body, breath, and gaze. Become conscious of your habits and learn to use your body as an refined instrument. Through an exploration of the teachings of Jacques Lecoq, you will learn how to engage audiences, construct vibrant entrances and exits, and emerge a more playful and present performer.

This workshop is designed for experienced performers and novices that are seeking confidence in front of a crowd.

This workshop takes place over the course of four sessions:

September 30 | 6:30-9pm
October 7 | 6:30-9pm
October 14 | 6:30-9pm
October 21 | 6:30-9pm

All sessions take place at the Pig Iron Studios, 1417 N. 2nd St.

While this workshop is free of charge, participants are required to commit to all four workshop sessions. Participants will be asked to provide a $50 deposit, to be refunded at the end of the fourth session. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Minimum age is 18.

Workshop led by Mark Kennedy, Adam Montgomery, and Jacinta Yelland, with support from Emmanuelle Delpech and Sarah Sanford
